Eye diagnosis (Chinese: 眼诊法) is indeed been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years, the content of Chinese eye diagnosis include: Five Obiculi Theory (Chinese: 五轮学说), Eight Region Theory (Chinese: 八廓学说) and Eyeball Meridian Region Diagnosis (Chinese: 眼球经区诊法). The Eyeball Meridian Region Diagnosis (Chinese: 眼球经区诊法) was first introduced by Professor Peng Jingshan (Chinese: 彭静山教授), a renowned professor from Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Chinese: 辽宁中医药大学) in 1970, Professor Peng is believe to be the first person to introduce Eye Acupuncture (Chinese: 眼针疗法) in Chinese medicine history. There are more than hundreds of research papers on Chinese Eye Diagnosis and Eye Acupuncture (Chinese: 眼针疗法).
Iridology diagnosis is a Western approach to alternative medicine, the first explicit description of iridological principles such as homolaterality (without using the word iridology) are found in Chiromatica Medica, a famous work published in 1665 and reprinted in 1670 and 1691 by Philippus Meyeus (Philip Meyen von Coburg).
The first use of the word Augendiagnostik ("eye diagnosis," loosely translated as iridology) began with Ignaz von Peczely, a 19th-century Hungarian physician. The most common story is that he got the idea for this diagnostic tool after seeing similar streaks in the eyes of a man he was treating for a broken leg and the eyes of an owl whose leg von Peczely had broken many years before. At the First International Iridological Congress, Ignaz von Peczely's nephew, August von Peczely, dismissed this myth as apocryphal, and maintained that such claims were irreproducible.

Last but not least, we respect every school of medicine, whether it belongs to conventional or alternative. We view iridology diagnosis as a research subject only, which complement with our Chinese Eye Diagnosis. As a responsible clinician, we never rely on any one kind of diagnosis system alone, whether it belong to conventional or alternative. We have studied more than thousands of research and scientific paper throughout these years, and make sure every modalities we use must at least been clinical proven even if it may not have enough scientific evidence at the present time being.
